Following their promotion from the Championship, Forest signed an incredible 21 new players during the 2022 summer transfer window.
Forest and their spending spree
Ahead of the season, Nottingham Forest were in urgent needed to recruit more players and strengthen their squad. Following their promotion to the EPL, they needed to sign new players in order to deal with the demands of playing at the top-flight. And they did exactly that by signing a record 21 players during the summer transfer window.
Forest smashed the previous British record for player signings made by a club made in a single transfer window. The previous record was held by Scottish sides Dundee (summer of 2000), and Livingston (2001) with 19 signings each.
However, despite those signings, Steve Cooper’s men had a tough start with only one win in their first 11 games. Despite this, Forest gradually found their form over time and are currently in 13th place, with four points above the danger zone.
Forest continued their spending ways this January transfer window with seven new signings. Moreover, they also secured three free agents outside of the two transfer windows.
