The bouts begin at 5 p.m. local time every day and last until 9:30 p.m. local time. Meanwhile, the blitz event ran from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. local time on the first day. Tournament Format, Rules, and Prize Money Pool

The 2022 Norway Chess tournament will take place from May 31 to June 10, 2022. The tournament comprises of a 10-player single round-robin with a 10-second increment after move 40 in a traditional time control of 120 minutes for the game. Instead of the typical one point for a win, the scoring system is three points. If the game is tied, the participants play an Armageddon game in which the winner receives 1.5 points and the loser receives one point.

A total of 2.5 million Norwegian kroner will be awarded as a reward (NOK). The full schedule, pairing, standings and results of the tournament can be found here.

Norway Chess 2022 Round 4 Results, Latest Standings, And Brilliance of Magnus Carlsen

At the 2022 Norway Chess in Stavanger, the situation at the top of the scoreboard is starting to heat up. With 8.5 points, Anand and Carlsen are tied for first place, ahead of GM Wesley So with 7.5 points and GM Shakhriyar Mamedyarov with 7 points.

Magnus Carlsen is co-leader heading into the first rest day of the Norway Chess Championship after defeating Anish Giri to improve his lifetime tally against his Dutch opponent to 6 victories to 1. After surviving a losing situation to overcome Vishy Anand in Armageddon, Wesley So is the only player to have won all four mini-matches, but Vishy is a point ahead of Wesley with two wins in classical chess. The only other traditional winner was Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, who defeated Wang Hao to move up to fourth place.

GM Magnus Carlsen, the current world champion, indicated his desire to compete for the tournament championship by winning his second classical game in a row. Carlsen caught up of former world champion GM Viswanathan Anand in the overall standings after Anand drew his game and then lost the Armageddon game.

The total prize pool for the tournament is 2,500,000 NOK, with the winner receiving 750,000 NOK and the runner-up receiving 400,000 NOK.
