Its design symbolises the spirit of that time of renewal and reinvention when Barcelona opened up to the world and the world opened up to Barcelona.

The city took a giant step forward into modernization by organizing the Olympic Games 30 years ago while maintaining its culture and roots. The club has opted to call on and promote that Olympic culture at a period when its endeavours are very much focused on the future, as the current era is also one of such huge changes in the first-team roster.

Starting on Friday, June 3rd, the new jersey will be sold only at the Barça Stores at Camp Nou, Passeig de Gràcia, La Roca Village, and Barcelona Airport T1 and T2, as well as the club’s online store, for five days. From June 8, it will be available at all regular retail outlets.

The new outfit for the players on the field, as well as the replica jerseys for the fans, is made entirely of recycled polyester fabric manufactured from recycled plastic bottles.

A design that evokes the radiance of the city

All Barcelona citizens experienced social and cultural transformation as a result of the Olympic Games, as well as urban development. The construction of the Port Olympic and the renovation of the Vila Olmpica brought the city closer to the sea.

The Palau Sant Jordi, Norman Foster’s Torre de Collserola, and Santiago Calatrava’s Montjuic Communications Tower are just a few of the new infrastructures and works that have become iconic symbols in Barcelona. New natural spaces and urban networks were also created during the same period. The Olympic spirit instilled a sense of pride in the city that has lasted to this day.

The design of the home strip evokes the new light that has been brought to Barcelona through the creation of new spaces and, in particular, new relationships to the sea, a concept that is defined by the different colored stripes on the shirt, which alternate between red and two shades of blue, one navy and the other lighter. The collar, sleeves, shorts, and socks are all the same navy blue.

The kit launch campaign is also aimed to mirror the spirit of Barcelona ’92, with a comparable typeface to that used at the time and slogans in four different languages, notably Catalan, Spanish, English, and French, as well as the varied messages that were utilised in the posters of 30 years ago.

On the front, Spotify makes its debut, while the back features UNHCR/ACNUR

The introduction of the new main partner is one of the most striking new aspects of the 2022/23 kit. The Spotify name will appear on the front of both men’s and women’s shirts for the first time, along with the Nike swoosh, both in a sesame tone.

The UNHCR/ACNUR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) logo on the back of the men’s and women’s shirts, as well as the UNHCR/ACNUR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) logo on the back of the Barça Foundation team playing in the Liga Genuine, have all been changed to the same colour. The sponsor will continue to support the other four professional sports teams (basketball, handball, roller hockey, and futsal).

Shirts to last a lifetime

FC Barcelona is also launching a new promotion that will benefit all fans who purchase the home shirt from the Barça Store or the club’s e-commerce outlets between June 3 and June 30. They’ll all be placed into a drawing for a lifetime supply of tees.
