Nikita Mazepin Looking At Desert Racing If F1 Return Doesn’t Work Out

After many weeks since his departure from the Haas F1 2022 team, Nikita Mazepin has spoken out about his present circumstances

The Haas squad sacked Mazepin, along with Russian sponsor Uralkali, earlier this month, following Russia’s significant military strike on Ukraine.

The EU and the UK sanctioned Mazepin and his billionaire father Dmitry, the head of Uralkali, in March.

The driver talked to the press in the days following his resignation, claiming to have known of his departure from Haas at the same time as the media.

He also announced intentions to establish the ‘We Compete As One’ foundation, with the goal of providing financial and psychological assistance to Russian athletes who have been barred from competing in their particular areas.

“My career is now on hiatus,” Mazepin said.

“But I have been involved in motorsport for 18 years, and I have no intention of leaving it. I’m keeping fit and I hope to return to Formula 1.

“If it doesn’t work out, I will consider other options. For example, I’m interested in racing in the desert. The Dakar is possible, as is the Silk Road rally,” he continued.

Mazepin Confesses To A “Hiatus” In His Profession.

Mazepin has provided an update on his position, admitting that his racing career has been put on pause for the time being.

However, the 23-year-old remains hopeful of returning to Formula One. Or else he wants to compete in another motorsport category if that is not feasible.

His career is currently on hold, Mazepin stated in a statement to the Russian news outlet Ria Novosti.

However, he has been active in motorsport for 18 years and have no plans to stop. He is staying in shape with the hopes of returning to Formula 1.

If that doesn’t work out, he will look into other possibilities. For example, he has interest in desert racing. The Dakar Rally, as well as the Silk Road Rally, are also possibilities.

In Only One Month, His Life Has Altered Dramatically

Mazepin claims that his life has changed considerably in the weeks after his retirement from Formula 1. In only one month, his life has altered dramatically, he stated.

He is considering competing in several Russian tournaments. Even the unpleasant things in life, however, have a beginning and an end.

He is hoping for another shift in his life and profession shortly, this time for the better.
