If not in all European football, Marcus Rashford is the best in-form player in the Premier League but he does need to stop passing off a Nicklas Bendtner celebration as his
The forward for Manchester United has already doubled his goal total from last season with 10 goals in as many games since returning from the World Cup. He is the rarest of creatures when he plays this way: a player who can score whenever, however, and from any location.
Nicklas Bendtner claims Marcus Rashford stole his goal celebration from his time at Arsenal and claimed it as his own
How true is the accusation?
Nicklas Bendtner, a former striker for Arsenal, has suggested that Marcus Rashford, a forward for Manchester United, is imitating his goal celebration. It’s becoming increasingly popular to watch the English attacker’s latest celebration, in which he points his finger towards his head.
Every time Rashford scores since the FIFA World Cup, he celebrates by doing a run towards the pitch end and then pointing his index finger towards his head. There has been a lot of finger-pointing even though he has been in excellent form and has scored nine goals over that time.
What did Bendtner claim?
Bendtner, though, has noted that he similarly celebrated his goals. The Dane would, however, come in for harsh criticism during his time. The former frontman for Arsenal posted on social media: “Young gun making headlines and taking hits, for things that nowadays are completely normal.”

According to Bendtner, Rashford is not criticised for his celebration. However, during his time he was heavily mocked for the same celebration, which led to mental disturbance. The frequent criticism of his performances and his exuberant confidence hampered him during his time with the Gunners. Before leaving Arsenal in 2014, the Dane scored 47 goals in 171 games. He is now 35 and retired.
Who other has done the same celebrations?
Many prominent figures in football, including fellow countryman Bukayo Saka, are emulating Rashford’s celebration. The celebration was done by the Arsenal winger after his team defeated Manchester United 3-2 on Sunday (January 22).
Joelinton of Newcastle United and Joshua Kimmich of Bayern Munich are two such athletes who have used the celebration. Aurelien Tchouameni, meanwhile, did the same after France’s 2-1 victory over England in the FIFA World Cup quarterfinals. However, it was before Rashford began to make the celebration a genuine trend.
