Extremist Muslims bashed Mohammed Shami for posting a Dussehra wish on Twitter.

Dussehra is a Hindu festival celebrated at the end of Navratri each year. The main reason for the celebration is the victory of Lord Rama over Evil Ravana. The triumph of Goddess Durga over a demon named Mahishasur is also celebrated widely on the same day.

The Indian cricketers are very much active on social media. They don’t shy away from celebrating any Indian festival with their fans on social media. The 32-year-old Indian pace bowler Mohammad Shami posted a picture of Lord Rama with a beautiful caption. Majority of the Shami’s 2.8 Million followers loved the post and appreciated but some of the fans took it otherwise.

The pro-Islamist said that it is a way of seeking a place in the Indian team by Shami who has been out of the Limited overs team for a while now. Some of them even demanded Fatwa from Shami for celebrating a Hindu festival.

Fatwa is practiced in Sharia Law in which any Muslim who commits anything against Islam gets penalized with death.

The Indian pace bowler’s festive greeting was turned into complete chaos on social media. He was criticized heavily by the pro-Muslims as it is against their religion to celebrate any other religious festival.
