The next MotoGP season will feature a completely extended calendar with new circuits and countries. When is Bharat GP 2023?
Dorma Sports, the event’s organisers, previously stated MotoGP aspirations to conduct races and promote the sport in India and Bharat GP is now all set for its debut in 2023. The Buddh International Circuit will host the Bharat Grand Prix 2023. The event has been granted a provisional calendar date of September 22-24, subject to contractual and circuit homologation authorization. Dorna and Fairstreet Sports, located in Noida, have signed a seven-year Memorandum of Understanding for the Bharat GP.
The CEO of Dorna, Carmelo stated his views on Bharat GP and said- “We’re very proud to announce that Buddh International Circuit will be on the 2023 calendar. We have a lot of fans in India and we’re excited to be able to bring the sport to them.”Adding that “India is also a key market for the motorcycle industry, and by extension, for MotoGP, as the pinnacle of the two-wheeled world,”.
Buddh International Circuit Description
The Buddh International Track is an Indian motor racing circuit located in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, in the National Capital Region. The circuit’s name is derived from Budhha, which represents peace and tranquillity. The track officially opened its doors in 2011, when India staged the inaugural Formula One race on the Indian subcontinent.
The 4.9 km long circuit was designed by German racetrack designer Hermann Tilke and is one of the fastest in the Formula One season. The track has a capacity of 110000 spectators and features a fascinating balance of tight and slow turns. Along with India, Kazakhastan will be the other country, making its debut in Moto GP 2023
