Tragically, 27-year-old Australian freestyle motocross prodigy Jayden Archer died in his hometown of Melbourne, Australia, while practicing his groundbreaking triple backflip.
The Travis Pastrana-founded Nitro Circus community shared their sorrow on Instagram while honoring Archer’s tremendous accomplishments and services to the sport. In a poignant tribute, Nitro Circus described Jayo as the embodiment of passion, hard work, and determination, saying,

He was fondly remembered as Jayo in his loved ones’ memories. On the professional front, Jayo was a prominent figure in the Australian motocross scene. In 2011, at the age of 15, he became the youngest person on record to do a motorbike backflip over 75 feet, which led to him landing a sponsorship agreement with Powersports Kawasaki.

Before making his stage debut in 2012, Jayden Archer spent years as a Nitro Circus assistant mechanic. When he executed the triple backflip for the first time at the Nitro World Games in November 2022, he became one of just three riders to accomplish the feat.
He earned the bronze medal at X Games California in 2023 in the MTX Best Trick category and placed sixth in the category at his prior competition at the 2021 X Games. According to CBS Sports, Archer was last seen doing a triple backflip during a Nitro Circus live show in Jay, Oklahoma, in June 2023.
