Although the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has been negotiating with the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) to build the stadium since 2018, the amount of floor area ratio (FAR) that the UPCA requested was more than what was allowed.

At the Sunday ground-breaking ceremony for the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) project at Morti Rajnagar Extension, Rajiv Shukla, vice president of the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) and Rajya Sabha MP, stated that “high tension electrical wires and poles” in the vicinity were the reason behind the stadium’s construction delay.
