Money in the Bank Live Results 2021: John Cena returns, Charlotte becomes the new Raw Women’s Champion, Big E and Nikki Cross become Mr. and Ms. Money in the Bank
The arena in Fort Worth, Texas featured the first big full-capacity WWE pay-per-view since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic this Sunday on 18th July, 2021. And in no way did it disappoint. Read on to catch up on all the crazy action and big surprises which happened on Money in the Bank this year.
Money in the Bank Live Results and Highlights 2021
WWE Universal Championship: Roman Reigns defeated Edge in a slow-burning match as The Champ John Cena made his return post-climax. The Big Dog and The Rated-R Superstar gave some hardcore action which led to the referee being knocked out. The match thus saw interference from The Usos, Mysterios and Seth Rollins. In the end, Rollins drew Edge to kick him from the ring apron and allowed Reigns to hit a spear and retain his title.

But not long after Reigns asked the whole world to acknowledge him now on the mic, John Cena’s music hit as he sprinted across the aisle, after cheerfully addressing the WWE Universe with ‘I miss yous.’ Without saying a word to The Big Dog, Cena moved toward him and mocked him with ‘You Can’t See Me’ gesture as the show went off-air.

Women’s Money in the Bank: Nikki Cross defeated Asuka, Naomi, Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan, Zelina Vega, Natalya and Tamina in what was quite an unexpected victory. A trio of ladders was set up in the ring and all the women were battling it out on the ladders for the briefcase, except Nikki. Unnoticed, she would finally climb over everyone and grab the gold to win the match.
She just snuck up on EVERYONE and grabbed that contract.

Men’s Money in the Bank: Big E defeated Ricochet, John Morrison, Riddle, Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens, Shinsuke Nakamura and Seth Rollins in what was one of the most entertaining MITB Ladder Matches ever. It had some great spots like Morrison’s body block, Rollins’ falcon arrow onto a ladder, Owens’ springboard moonsault and Ricochet’s huge leap from a ladder. McIntyre was taken out of action due to an attack by Jinder Mahal, Veer and Shanky. The match ended as Big E hit the Big Ending on Rollins from a ladder.

Raw Women’s Championship: Charlotte Flair defeated Rhea Ripley by making her tap to the Figure Eight. This match was undoubtedly one of the best performances by the Women’s Division as The Queen and The Nightmare gave way to chants of ‘We Want Becky’ to the much-revered chant ‘This is Awesome.’ The match included some huge moves like Flair’s top-rope moonsault to the outside and Ripley locking in her modified Texas cloverleaf.
