Commissioner’s Trophy
The Commissioner’s Trophy is the name of MLB’s iconic trophy awarded annually to the winner of the World Series Championships. Notably, the MLB creates a new trophy each year, with the trophy presentation happening on the field. Notably, the Commissioner’s trophy received its current name only in the year 1985. so the Kansas City Royals were the first team to receive the award when it was named the Commissioner’s Trophy.
Commissioner’s Trophy weight and size
Tiffany & Co. designed and released the current Commissioner’s Trophy back in 2000. The trophy has a diameter of 11 inches, and stands at 24 inches tall. It is made of sterling silver and weighs around 30 pounds. The trophy features 30 gold-plated flags, each flag representing an MLB team. The original 1967 design was modelled after Wrigley Field and featured 20 gold-plated flags representing the 20 MLB teams at the time.

Commissioner’s Trophy most wins by a team
The MLB first awarded the Commissioner’s Trophy in 1967 and has done so every year except for 1994. The Yankees have so far managed to win the trophy the most, winning it a total of seven times – 1977, ’78, ’96, ’98, ’99, 2000 and ’09. Behind them are the Boston Red Sox, Oakland Athletics and St. Louis Cardinals, and most recently, the Dodgers, who have all won it four times.
