Recently, MI New York owned by the Ambani’s, the owner of Mumbai Indians in the IPL, announced the signing of nine international players and with this, the 18-player squad, which includes a solid core of veterans, homegrown quality, & young players, has now been completed. Along with the players, the franchise has also revealed the coaching staff for their inaugural season. Rashid Khan, the T20 captain of Afghanistan, and former West Indies captain Nicholas Pooran will be part of the MI New York squad alongside Mumbai Indians great Kieron Pollard, who will be the captain of the squad.
Additionally, New Zealand fast bowler Trent Boult, Australian duo Tim David and Jason Behrendorff will join them. Notably, South African prodigy Dewald Brevis and pace sensation Kagiso Rabada, & Namibian all-arounder David Wiese will also be on the team. For MI New York, former Mumbai Indians player Lasith Malinga will serve as the bowling coach, Meanwhile, former South Africa player Robin Peterson will work for the team as the head coach. Similarly, Arun Kumar is appointed as the batting coach and James Pamment will assume his role as the fielding coach.
