India’s Dilpreet Singh scored a hat-trick as the defending champions and bronze medalists at the Tokyo Olympics blasted hosts Bangladesh 9-0 on Wednesday to claim their first win in the Men’s Asian Champions Trophy 2021.

Dilpreet Singh (12th, 22nd, and 45th) had three field goals for India, while Jarmanpreet Singh (33rd, 43rd) had two penalty corner goals. In the meantime, Lalit Upadhayay (28th) deflected vice-captain Harmanpreet Singh’s flick from a penalty corner in a variation. In the 54th minute, Akashdeep Singh scored a field goal, before Mandeep Mor scored his first goal for the country from a set piece in the 55th minute.
As if that wasn’t enough, Harmanpreet also got his name on the score sheet in the 57th minute, brilliantly converting India’s 13th penalty corner.
Another match took place between Japan and South Korea, which resulted in a tie between the two. Both the teams scored 3-3.
