Matheesha Pathirana, a fast bowler, is dubbed the ‘Next Malinga’ by cricket fans because his bowling movement matches that of the previous pace guru who demolished several world-class hitters. Pathirana made his Chennai Super Kings debut on Sunday at Wankhede Stadium. The right-arm fast took the prized wicket of Shubman Gill on his first ball while bowling against the Gujarat Titans.

The batsman was absolutely caught off guard by the fast full delivery. The bat hit Gill low on the pad because he was late on the shot. The on-field umpire immediately gave it, but the Gujarat opener went for the DRS; the impact was in line with the leg stump.
