Manchester United sack Dutch manager Erik Ten Hag
The Red Devils shared the news about sacking their manager Erik Ten hag through an official statement, saying:
Erik ten Hag has left his role as Manchester United men’s first-team manager. Erik was appointed in April 2022 and led the club to two domestic trophies, winning the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024.
We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future. Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of the team as interim head coach, supported by the current coaching team, whilst a permanent head coach is recruited.”
Just Prior to his sacking, Man Utd were at 14th place in the Premier League and winless across their first three Europa League matches. During his two and a half-season at the club, the 54-year-old won two trophies, the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the 2024 FA Cup.
Manchester United next manager odds
Given below are the odds for the next Manchester United manager with Rúben Amorim and Ruud van Nistelrooy leading:
Manager | Odds |
Ruben Amorim | 3/1 |
Ruud van Nistelrooy | 7/2 |
Xavi Hernández | 6/1 |
Thomas Frank | 8/1 |
Gareth Southgate | 8/1 |
Steve Cooper | 10/1 |
Kieran McKenna | 10/1 |
Zinedine Zidane | 14/1 |

Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim currently leads the odds to take up the wheel at Manchester United. Notably, this could prove as good news for United main man Bruno Fernandes as he was heard praising him just ahead of Portugal’s Nations League clash against Poland earlier this month. Fernandes stated:
Since Mr Amorim arrived at Sporting, it has been one of the teams to practice better football. They have been consistent, the signings have been right and they are in a very good moment. It’s a very well-prepared team.”
Former Man Utd star Ruud van Nistelrooy who will step in as the interim manager has the next best odds of taking up the permanent role.
