After eliminating P.V. Sindhu in three games in the first round, Marin had to work for the victory as Chochuwong held the score close for the entire 50 minutes. Throughout the game Chochuwong was relentless, closing the gap to 14-12 in the opening game before Marin turned up the heat to win seven of the final nine points and the set.
