2023 Malaysia Masters singles day 5 schedule, date, venue, & semi-final draw
In the 2023 Malaysia Masters, Indian ace HS Prannoy extended his superb run to qualify for the men’s singles semifinal. Prannoy eliminated Japan’s Kenta Nishimoto, the reigning Spain Masters winner, to reach the Super 500 tournament’s semifinal. After preserving four game points in the first game, the 30-year-old prevailed with scores of 25-23, 18-21, & 21-13. Prannoy’s next opponent will be Indonesian qualifier Christian Adinata, who managed to stun Indian star Kidambi Srikanth by score of 16-21, 21-16, 21-11 in 57 minutes.
After an intense quarterfinal that lasted 74-minutes, Sindhu emerged victorious against Chinese shuttler Zhang Yiman by score of 21-16, 13-21, 22-20. With this victory, Sindhu has managed to qualify for the semi-final of this tournament and is scheduled to face-off against Gregoria Mariska Tunjung on Saturday.

2023 Malaysia Masters: prize money distribution
From the $420,000 total prize fund, $31,500 will be awarded to each singles category winner of the Malaysia Masters, a BWF Super 500 competition. While the losers of each singles semifinal match only receive $6,090 each, the runner-up in singles will receive $15,960. Adinata shockingly upset Kidambi Srikanth in the quarterfinal and hence, Srikanth will earn $2,520 in prize money.
