2023 Malaysia Masters final day results, scores, winners, & list of champions
By scores of 21-19, 13-21, & 21-18, Indian ace HS Prannoy defeated Weng Hongyang in the men’s singles final to claim his first-ever BWF World Tour championship. When Prannoy won the first game, it seemed like an easy victory for him. However, critical errors allowed Hongyang to tie the score again and force a decisive set, which Prannoy won to clinch the championship.
In the meantime, Akane Yamaguchi won the women’s singles match by defeating Gregoria Mariska Tunjung 21-17, 21-7. Akane has earned her first BWF Super 500 of the year with this victory, and she will unquestionably keep the top spot in the BWF global rankings. Meanwhile, the women’s doubles championship was won by the Korean pair Baek Ha-na & Lee So-hee, who defeated Malaysian duo Pearly Tan & Thinaah Muralitharan by score of 22-20, 8-21, 21-17.
