Despite being one of the youngest soccer leagues in the world, the Major League Soccer is one of the most viewed leagues outside of Europe. The League consists of 27 teams in total- 24 in the US and 3 in Canada- but it plans to increase the number of teams to 30 by the end of the 2023 season.
The League is sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation, which acts for the sport’s topmost level in the United States. As per Nielsen Sports Sponsorlink, Major League Soccer has gained a 27% rise in interest since 2012.
