The M Chinnaswamy Stadium was previously known as the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) stadium, before being renamed after Mangalam Chinnaswamy, BCCI President from 1977 to 1980 and a former KSCA member.
It was established under the patronage Karnataka Government in 1969 and the first match was played in 1972-73 season.
The M Chinnaswamy Stadium has previously served as home venues to Karnataka state teams, and the Indian cricket team. Since the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008 it has served as the home to the Bengaluru-based franchise – Royal Challengers Bangalore.
RCB like the other IPL teams will return to their home stadium for the first time since 2019. The KSCA stadium in Bengaluru will host 7 league-stage home games of the RCB.

M Chinnaswamy Stadium pitch report
M Chinnaswamy Stadium is known to favor batting especially in the limited overs format. This is due to its flat wickets and the small ground dimensions. However, recently, the pitch has seen the use of black soil for the wickets, which may help the spinners. Based on the T20 record here, the chasing teams have a slight advantage on the wickets.
