Ever Since The Rings of Power has hit our screens, the series has featured a ton of use of JRR Tolkien’s fictional languages, know the meaning of envinyata and keuta
These languages are from the Elvish of Quenya and Sindarin to the Black Speech and they are spoken as the Orcs and the Dwarvish language of Khuzdul.
Since their fiery arrival in Middle-earth, the mysterious Stranger has spoken almost entirely in Quenya, they often heard chanting spells in the Elvish language.
Lord of Rings Episode 7 Meaning of Envinyata, Lótë, Keuta And Á Kuita Phrases
The episode 7 of the series has featured another of these sequences where a Stranger attempts to heal an apple tree after Harfoots requests him.
He then starts using the terms “Envinyata,” “Lótë” and “Á kuita” to cast a spell to heal the tree, but what exactly do these phrases mean? Here’s all the details.
After episode 6 focuses solely on the Battle of the Southlands, the 7th episode of the Rings of Power brought attention back to Nori, the Harfoots and the mysterious Stranger.
Despite being in fear that they would be left behind, the Brandyfoots manage to catch up with Harfoots at the grove. Which is an apple orchard that provides plenty of food for their whole clan.
However, after their arrival at the grove, this year has been met with destruction. The recent eruption of Mount Doom has showered the grove with some fiery rocks which have killed the apple trees.
To put an effort to sort things right, Sadoc asks the Stranger to help in healing the burnt out trees.
During the scene, the Stranger can be heard chanting a spell in a total of 11 languages of Quenya.
In the scene we can clearly hear him using the phrases like “Á keuta,” “Envinyata,” “Lótë,” and “Á kuita.” Many people after hearing the phrases seem to be wondering about their meaning.
Here’s what they mean according to Parf Edhellen’s Elvish Dictionary:
Á keuta | Restore, renew, refresh
Á envinyata | Heal
Lótë | Flower
Á kuita | Live
The “Á” in the starting of the words serves as an imperative particle to make a phrase an instruction as part of the Stranger’s spell.
In its true essence, it simply means that the Stranger is telling the tree to heal and restore so that the Harfoots may collect the food that they need to survive.
Apart from all this, there is another puzzle that has been building around, i.e, in relation to the 3 white cloaked individuals who have been following the Stranger for a while now.
These are known as the Mystics and they supposedly hail from the eastern land of Rhûn. They have travelled west to pursue the Stranger.
However as of now, only little information is available about the trip and their motivations. Though their names have been revealed and these are Dweller, the Nomad, and the Ascetic.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power series is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video since its premiered on September 2, 2022.
