There are many teams that could be interested in signing the great striker, but one of them is French champion Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

Notably, PSG already has superstar footballer Lionel Messi, and the supporters would dearly love to watch the two GOATs—Ronaldo and Messi—play together. However, if sources are to be accepted, Argentina is opposed to the decision.

According to a story in El Nacional, seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi warned PSG executives that if they signed Ronaldo, he would leave the team.

It’s important to note that Ronaldo reportedly asked to leave Old Trafford after only a year of his second stint there because he wants to compete in the Champions League next season.

Notably, Ronaldo has spent the last 15 years playing in three separate nations. When the striker was playing for Real Madrid, Juventus, and Manchester United (up until last season), all three teams were participating in the UEFA Champions League.

However, Ronaldo, who is presently the competition’s all-time leading scorer with 141 goals to his credit, will miss out on playing UCL if he continues with the Red Devils because Manchester United placed sixth in the Premier League standings last season, excluding them from the Champions League. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is eager to leave Manchester United for this reason.

Ronaldo has not been persuaded to stay at Old Trafford by the club’s sluggish action in the ongoing transfer market.

Although he is still under contract, according to official Manchester United sources, the club is rumoured to be open to offers, with any proceeds going toward restocking the roster.
