Lincoln City manager departs with immediate effect.
The Imps confirmed on Wednesday night that Mark Kennedy and his assistant Danny Butterfield were no longer in charge after recording only one victory in their previous six League One games. As a result, they are now 16th in the standings, five points outside the playoff spots and seven points above the danger zone for relegation.
The club announced on their official website that first-team coach Tom Shaw had been given temporary control while they conducted a comprehensive search to find the next head coach.

Stephen Bradley is the front-runner for the job
Shortly after Lincoln City revealed Mark Kennedy would be leaving, Stephen Bradley has been the club’s favourite to replace him. Bradley, who declined the role at Lincoln in 2022, recently expressed uncertainty about his future at Shamrock Rovers after claiming that talks about his position and conversations with significant out-of-contract players have been postponed until the conclusion of the current campaign.
Bradley, the manager of Shamrock Rovers, had said that a forthcoming board meeting will open the door to setting “everything in motion” for 2024. He was referring to his position and player acquisition. However, there was a dramatic shift when those discussions were suspended due to the season’s finish in November.
His team presently leads the League of Ireland Premier Division by four points with one game remaining against Derry City in second place. If Shamrock were to win the league, it would be their fourth straight victory. Since July 2016, Stephen Bradley has served as Shamrock Rovers’ manager. In the League of Ireland Premier Division in 2019, he led Shamrock Rovers to a second-place finish, 11 points behind Dundalk FC.
In the 2019 FAI Cup, he and they both saw greater success. They advanced to the championship game against Dundalk and won 4-2 on penalties to win their first national trophy in eight years and their first FAI Cup since 1987.
