Leicester City next manager odds, predictions and favorites candidates list

Once the Foxes fell into the Premier League relegation zone on Sunday, Brendan Rodgers left the team with mutual consent, know the Leicester City next manager odds

With Brendan Rodgers’ departure from Leicester City on Sunday after four years in command, the competition to become the club’s next manager will intensify. Rodgers’ dismissal was the result of a terrible run of results, and the 2021 FA Cup winners’ 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace on Saturday, who are also in relegation contention, was the last straw.

The Northern Irishman’s stellar record at the King Power Stadium, which included an FA Cup, Community Shield, two top-five Premier League finishes, and a first-ever European semi-final, wasn’t enough to keep him from being demoted to the Championship, and the new manager’s top priority will be top-flight survival.

Graham Potter is leading the race.

Potter was fired by Chelsea just hours after Rodgers departed Leicester, and he was quickly made the heavy favourite to take over at the King Power.

Given the record amount of money spent and Chelsea’s mediocre 11th-place finish in the league, it’s hard to call Potter’s time at Stamford Bridge a success. However, he did lead Chelsea to the Champions League quarterfinals, and more importantly, he performed admirably at Brighton to earn the job in the first place. The Englishman could prosper if he were a little less prominent.

And another favourite is Rafael Benitez.

Benitez, a champion’s league winner, is still looking for work after being fired by Everton in January 2022. The Spaniard may be viewed as a safe pair of hands who may get the most out of the Foxes’ underwhelming players after successful stints with Liverpool, Chelsea, and Newcastle earlier in his career.

After failing to keep Newcastle in the Premier League in 2016, he stayed with the club and guided them back to the top division.
