Latest WWE Releases List 2021: Keith Lee, Karrion Kross, Nia Jax Released Amongst Other Superstars

Latest WWE releases in 2021 have a lot of names. While some are seemingly evident, few are extremely shocking

While WWE is known for signing some of the top wrestlers in the world, it is also known for mishandling and finally releasing said talent. The company’s release list grew dramatically in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, and more of the same can be expected this year, as numerous big-name wrestlers have already been freed from WWE contracts.

The corporation had began its yearly cleansing phase, during which stars are released. In 2021, a few cuts have already been made, with a few names at the top of the list. Latest WWE Releases have few shocking names.

List Of The WWE Superstar Releases In 2021 

Keith Lee, Karrion Kross, Nia Jax released

Two weeks after its Crown Jewel pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia, WWE released more talent. The biggest names on the list of releases included Keith Lee, Karrion Kross, and Nia Jax.

  • Keith Lee: Lee became a champ in July 2020 after adding the NXT championship to his North American championship at the Great American Bash.

Bobby Fish, Bronson Reed among NXT releases

  • Bobby Fish: One of the first members of the now disbanded Undisputed Era, Fish was a partner of Kyle O’Reilly in the popular tag team reDRagon and well-respected veteran.
  • Bronson Reed: Captain of Team Thicc, Reed was finding his ground in NXT before his release on August 6.
  • Mercedes Martinez: Mercedes signed with WWE in 2020
  • Tyler Rust: A member of Roderick Strong’s The Diamond Mine, Rust was also released on August 6.
  • Kona Reeves: NXT’s “Finest” was also asked to leave on August 6.

WWE’s talent list has shrunk dramatically, with a number of notable names leaving the company. The first round of departures occurred in April, with artists such as Samoa Joe and Mickie James departing. Budget cuts were mentioned as the driving force behind the decision.

WWE Wrestlers Released In 2020

In 2020 as well, there were a number of cuts, and many promising and veteran athletes were asked to leave. The first set of cut came in April 2020, and then there were some more releases throughout the year.

Akam & Rezar

Akam and Rezar was released in September 2020, according to WWE. The duo was set to make a push at the start of 2020, but Rezar’s injury ruined their plans, and they were forced to take a break. In September 2020, WWE announced that the tag team would be released.

Zelina Vega

Zelina Vega was fired by WWE on November 13, 2020. It’s believed that Vega was released owing to a disagreement with WWE over the company’s acquisition of Twitch, Cameo, and other social media accounts. She is also said to have attempted to organise a WWE wrestlers union.

Rusev/Miro

Rusev was in talks with WWE for a new contract since the middle of 2019. Despite appearing to be a powerful force, Rusev was consistently losing all of his feuds throughout this time. During that period, his wife Lana secured a new contract with WWE, but Rusev ran into a snag with the company. Following the COVID-19 modifications, Rusev was released from WWE in April 2020 as part of a major release.

Rusev has been using his name, ‘Miro,’ on different social media channels since then. He launched his own Twitch channel and has been active on various social media platforms with her wife Lana. He recently debuted with All Elite Wrestling and secured a contract with NJPW for appearances in Japan.
