On Sunday, the 2023 Lanka Premier League final was played and following a nail-biting last over, B-Love Kandy were crowned as the champions. Notably, their captain Hasaranga played a pivotal role in their journey and managed to earn the Green Cap, Orange Cap, & Player of the Tournament Award.

After winning the toss, Dambulla Aura decided to bat first and managed to score respectable 147/4 after twenty overs owing to 40-run innings by Dhananjaya de Silva. In response, B-Love Kandy managed to complete their chase with one ball left and five wickets to spare.
For Kandy, Kamindu Mendis managed to score 44-runs and was supported by other batters including Dinesh Chandimal and Angelo Mathews. Owing to his stellar all-round performance, Angelo Mathews was recognized as the Player of the Final. With this thrilling triumph, B-Love Kandy, led by Wanindu Hasaranga, won their first LPL championship, creating a lasting memory in the history of the competition.

Lanka Premier League 2023: list of awards & winners
Following his stellar performance throughout the tournament, B-Love Kandy superstar Wanindu Hasaranga has been recognized as the Player of the Tournament. Additionally, Hasaranga finished as the highest run scorer of the tournament by scoring 279-runs including his 49-run innings in Qualifier 2. Surprisingly, Hasaranga also bagged the Best Bowler award by snatching nineteen wickets including his six-wicket haul in the Eliminator.
It has been reported that the prize money of this year’s Lanka Premier League will remain unchanged from the previous edition and hence, champions B-Love Kandy will earn $100,000 and runner-up team Dambulla Aura will bag prize money of $50,000. Additionally, monetary rewards will be dished out to the individual award winners.
