After the league phase is over the Kandy Falcons of Wanindu Hasaranga have topped the group. Jaffna Kings finished the table in second place with 12 points and now they will face Kandy Falcons in qualifier 1 on 21st December.

Earlier in the League phase when these two teams faced each on 2 occasions the Kandy Falcons won both times. Avishka Fernando has been in sublime form for the Jaffna Kings this season. He is the highest runscorer of the tournament with 268 runs in 8 innings. On the other hand, Andre Fletcher is the 2nd highest runscorer of the tournament and will be very important for the Kandy Falcons.
Kandy Falcons by far the best team of the league stage
A lot of players of Kandy Falcons have been top of the charts of runs and wickets in the Lanka Premier League 2022. The West Indian all-rounder Carlos Braithwaite has been the biggest asset for the Kandy Falcons. The Jamaican All-rounder is the highest wicket-taker of the tournament with 15 scalps on his name.

Dambulla Giants failed to qualify for the playoffs
The Srilankan national team captain Dasun Shananka’s Dambulla team is already out of the tournament. The giants only won 2 games out of their 8 matches in the league phase. Though Galle Gladiators also managed to win just 2 games they still qualified for the playoffs thanks to their better net run rate.

The Eliminator will be played between 3rd place Colombo Stars and Galle Gladiators who are 4th on the points table.
