Najmul Hossain Shanto Biography
Shanto was born on 25 August 1998 in Ranhat in Rajshahi. He was a cricket enthusiast since the beginning and joined a cricket academy name, Clemon Rajshahi Cricket Academy. The academy was far away from his home so he used to drive a bicycle and walk 20 km each day to reach the academy.
The player has seen a lot of struggle in his days but his passion kept him motivated to reach his goal.
He got in the eyes of the selectors in his early days as the player was having some serious talent since the beginning. His height stands at 5 feet 10 inches.

Shanto often says that he idolizes his senior teammate Tamim Iqbal who is also a left-handed batter with a similar style. The 24-year-old has always said that he wants to play like Tamim Iqbal.

Early Career
Najmul Hossain Shanto was first seen in Bangladesh Premier League back in 2016 where he played for Comilla Victorians.
In the same year, the player was named to the 22 men’s preparatory squad to train in Australia. Shanto’s 2017 became his breakthrough year when he became the leading runscorer in the 2017-18 Dhaka Premier Division cricket league with 749 runs.
In the same year, the player was added to the national test squad playing against New Zealand. He played his Debut game against New Zealand on 20th January 2017.
In 2018 he got selected for the national ODI squad traveling to UAE for the Asia Cup. He played his debut ODI against Afghanistan
He scored his first-ever Test Century against Sri Lanka in 2019 where he scored 163 runs.
