An investment firm named CVC made a deal with La Liga to invest a huge sum of 2.7 billion euros (£2.3 billion). Moreover, in return, there is too much they are asking for and that is the reason top clubs from the league are opposing it. It is said that the company is asking for a return of 10% of La Liga revenue and a 10 percent stake in most of its business like broadcasting rights, with 90 percent of the injection going to clubs. However, the amount given to the club will be a loan amount.

Big clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona have opposed the deal. Furthermore, there are several reasons behind opposing the deal. One of the statements from Barcelona claimed that the operation was not discussed with clubs and announced without any sufficient agreements.
Real Madrid also dropped a statement saying, “This agreement was reached without the involvement or knowledge of Real Madrid.”
Since the centralization of audiovisual rights in 2015, Real Madrid have earned €261 million and Barca €270m. Furthermore, if the broadcasting rights go into the hand of CVC it will be a huge loss for both teams. Also, the money raised by CVC from the deal will be distributed to the clubs in form of loans that they can repay in different years.
La Liga Salary Cap And Wage Limit
Real Madrid And Barcelona are opposing because of the time this deal takes. Moreover, the deal is for 50 years which means half-century. La Liga earlier introduced the new rules which affected Barcelona due to its high wage issue. Later, La Liga offered Barcelona to agree to the CVC deal and they can register players whose wage bills are not paid. So, as the deal was a long term which makes them bound for 50 years, Barcelona will part ways with Messi.
