Inclement weather due to Storm Arwen lead to the Turf Moor pitch being riddled with snow which lead to Burnley vs Tottenham being postponed
Stunned in their midweek Europa League fixture, Tottenham cantered to Turf Moor in dire need of a win. With Antonio Conte having spoken about the massive upheaval needed at the club, Tottenham’s matchup with Burnley held a slew of ramifications for a club which was struggling to overhaul its underachieving form.

However, before Tottenham could be allowed to unlock their true potential, the side’s Sunday Premier League show down was called off owing to inclement weather. Storm Arwen ended up leaving the Turf Moor pitch covered in a blanket of snow, one which was too much for the ground team to deal with.

Keeping in mind players’ safety, both the clubs released a statement affirming that they had realised it was prudent that the fixture be postponed.
Referee Peter Bankes said of the situation: “We were out here about two and a half hours before kick-off, snow started half hour before.
“What we decided was to ask the club officials to clear the snow, they worked as hard as they could but within about 10 minutes of clearing, the snow was back on the field.
“We did a ball roll and there was a lot of snow gathering on the ball. Safety is the primary focus for us.
“Both managers were in agreement that the spectacle wouldn’t be very good for the supporters and playing would be difficult in this situation.”
While both Sean Dyche and Antonio Conte expressed their disappointment at being unable to step out for the 2pm clash, both concurred that safety was of paramount important.
