Indian Table tennis player Manika Batra lost in the women’s singles event in the round 3 match against Australia’s Sophia Palcanova of the Tokyo Olympics, which was held at Tokyo Metropolitan Gym. She lost by 4-0 and the match lasted for just 27 minutes.

During the 2011 U-21 category of the Chile Open, Manika had won a silver medal. In the 2014 Commonwealth Games, which was held in Glasgow, she was declared as the quarterfinalist. She was also declared as the quarterfinalist in the 2014 Asian games. During the 2015, Commonwealth Table Tennis Championship, she had won three medals, which included a silver medal for the women’s team event, with Ankita and Mouma Das. She had also won a silver medal for the women’s doubles event, with Ankita Das, and had won a bronze medal for the women’s singles event.

During the 2016 South Asian Games, she had three gold medals, which included the women’s doubles event, with Pooja Sahasrubudhe and a mixed doubles event with Anthony Amalraj and for the women’s team event, with Mouma Das and Shamini Kumaresan. Batra was unable to win the fourth gold medals in the games as she was defeated by Mouma Das in the women’s single event finals.
