At the ongoing Khelo India Youth Games, Haryana are sitting second with 40 gold medals but, the hosts Madhya Pradesh are close behind at third place with 38 gold medals. Meanwhile, Maharashtra are sitting comfortably at the top with 53 gold medals.

Madhya Pradesh were scheduled to compete in both the Girls’ & Boys’ final, and as was to be expected, a large home crowd had assembled to support the home team. In the Girls’ category final, Jharkhand defeated the hosts 4-3 to bag the gold medal for themselves and put an end to Madhya Pradesh’s chances of double gold from hockey. Meanwhile in the Boys’ category final, Madhya Pradesh held their nerves to emerge victorious against Odisha by score of 3-2.
Kerala defeated Karnataka 2-0 to win the Boys’ football tournament at the Emerald Heights football field in Indore. In the first half of the game, Sreeraj CP & Kiran K scored the goals for Kerala that helped their team win the gold medal. Manipur defeated West Bengal 1-0 in the Girls’ football final thanks to a goal from Babita Oinam Devi in the 74th minute.
On Saturday, final day of the competition will be played and only two sports will be played including wrestling & swimming. Following the culmination of this event, the closing ceremony will be hosted.
