During Thursday’s medal-round matches of Khelo India Youth Games, Maharashtra had the most fortune as they bagged seven gold medals including four from Yogasana and three from the Cycling competition. Following their successful outing, they are sitting at the top of medal tally with a total of twenty-one medals.

In the Girls 10m Air Rifle category at the M.P. Shooting Academy range in Bhopal, Gautami Bhanot—who had previously won silver & bronze for India at the Asian Airgun Championships in Korea last year—became one of the gold medalists by defeating Maharashtra’s Isha Anil Taksale 16–14 in the final. Among MP’s other gold medalists were Satyarth Patel, who took first place in the Boys 10m Air Rifle event, and Oinam Binita Chanu, who won two golds in the Girls K-1 500m & Girls K-2 500m events of Kayaking & Canoeing.

Meanwhile, volleyball finalists have been decided with Haryana taking on Gujarat in the Boys’ final and Tamil Nadu vs. West Bengal in the Girls’ final. Lakshita Narang defeated Yashaswini Ghorpade in table tennis at the Abhay Prashal of Indore by score of 4-0 to qualify for the Girls’ final. It is confirmed that she will compete against Maharashtra’s Taneesha Kotecha, who defeated Prithoka Chakraborti in the other semi-final close. Elsewhere, the boy’s final will feature Ankur Bhattacharjee vs. Divyansh Srivastava.
