On Thursday, semi-final matches of Girls’ volleyball will be played at the 2022 Khelo India Youth Games with Haryana scheduled to face-off against Tamil Nadu and Gujarat set to play against Uttar Pradesh. Similarly, Haryana managed to qualify for the Boys’ semi-final after managing to secure 3-0 win against Gujarat.

On day three of the Khelo India Youth Games 2022, hosts Madhya Pradesh made a major statement at the lovely Upper Lake area of its capital city by winning all four gold medals up for grabs in kayaking and canoeing. Nitin Verma and Rimson Mairembam, the first gold medalists of the fourth edition of the KIYG, crossed the finish line first by a significant margin in the K-2 1000m Boys’ sprint.

As a total of seven states grabbed medals on the day, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh also opened their gold medal accounts by winning one apiece in table tennis. The day, however, belonged to the hosts, who swept all four gold medals up for grabs while showcasing their fantastic water sports facilities and inherent talent in the disciplines.

In the Boys’ and Girls’ Doubles matches at Abhay Prashal in Indore, where the TT competition is taking place, there were two gold medals up for grabs. Pritha Vartikar & Jennifer Varghese defeated Risha Mirchandani & Taneesh Kotecha by score of 3-0 (13-11, 11-9, 11-7) in the Girls’ Doubles final, which was an all-Maharashtra affair. Meanwhile, the Boys’ Doubles Final was decided after four games when Uttar Pradesh’s Divyansh Srivastava & Sarth Mishra defeated West Bengal’s Sujal Banik & Bodhisatwa Chaudhary 3-1. (8-11, 11-8, 11-6, 11-8).
