The Khelo India Youth Games were originally scheduled for November-December this year, but were pushed back to February because of concerns about a third wave of COVID-19 in India.
Khelo India Youth Games 2022 Held In Which State: Host And Venue
Panchkula, Ambala, Chandigarh, Shahabad, and Delhi will all host the Khelo India Youth Games. A total of 10,000 competitors are anticipated to compete in 25 different sports.
Haryana’s chief minister has announced that Haryana will host the fourth season of the Khelo India Youth Games, which will take place this year in 2021. In Panchkula, the games will be held. Every year, this event is held in January; however, because to the pandemic, the games were postponed this year. Candidates who are under the age of 17 and under the age of 21 can compete in one of two categories.
New Games Included In Khelo India Youth Gamesย
Gatka, Thang-Ta, Kalaripayattu, Malkhamb, and Yogasan are five indigenous games that have been included to the current edition to encourage sports at the grassroots level.
The opening ceremony will take place in Panchkula on February 5th, with the health authorities on high alert for the new COVID-19 variety. Registration form for the games can be found online on the official site.
Khelo India Youth Games Venue, Registration And Age Groups Limit
After reviewing the Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula, Haryana’s chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar stated that the Games’ preparations will be completed by December 31.
The Khelo India Youth Games were last hosted in Guwahati, Assam, in January of 2020.
The competition was contested for the under-17 and under-21 age groups. The championships will be held in the under-18 age group this time.
