Irate Everton fans have made their feelings of animosity towards Rafa Benitez clear with a banner going up outside Goodison Park
Although he’s bound to get some reprieve from the Everton board with the club’s hierarchy said to stick with him for the remainder of the season, Rafa Benitez is clutching at extremely thin straws at the moment.
Even before the 2021-22 edition of the Premier League got underway, the Spaniard’s appointment wasn’t greeted too kindly at the club. Given his history with Liverpool and his previous comments on Everton, the club’s faithful were puzzled as to why the club had opted for Benitez’s services as the manager once Carlo Ancelotti vacated the move.
Rafa Benitez Banner Goes Up Outside Goodison Park As Everton Fans Demand For His Sack
And as the season unraveled, the fans worst fears were realised with Everton being schooled by almost everyone. The side fell to another appalling defeat against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Palace, a 3-1 defeat which was spearheaded by Conor Gallagher who scored twice for the hosts on the day.

The defeat saw the visiting fans break out into the “fat Spanish waiter” chant directed at Rafa Benitez during the affair to project their feelings of furor towards Benitez. However, it wasn’t only London which was getting rocked with protests against the Spanish manager with banners coming up outside Goodison Park as well to lash out at Benitez.
One banner in particular was enough to narrate the mood around the club at the moment with it going onto ask Benitez to leave as it read, “F**k off you fat Kopite c”nt”.
How Benitez can withstand the assault against him remains to be seen with him said to have sparred with Lucas Digne as well.
