Jammu and Kashmir clinched victory in the Khelo India Winter Games 2023, securing 26 gold, 25 silver, and 25 bronze medals. Services, Karnataka, and Maharashtra took the second position in the last three editions. After the Ladakh phase of KIWG 2024, Maharashtra leads the medal standings with six golds, eight silver, and six bronze medals. Karnataka closely trails with six golds, two silver, and no bronze, accumulating a total of eight medals.

2024 Khelo India Winter Games latest results, schedule, date, venue, events list
Jammu and Kashmir hosted and triumphed in all three preceding editions, held in 2020, 2021, and 2023. This year, the Union Territory of Ladakh debuts as a host. During the Ladakh segment, 344 athletes, representing 15 states, Union Territories, and two public institutions, vie for medals across two disciplines: ice hockey and speed skating. Events are taking place at NDS Sports Stadium, Gupuks Pond, and Ladakh Scout Regimental Centre (LSRC) rink.
The remaining sportsโski mountaineering, alpine skiing, snowboarding, Nordic skiing, and gandolaโunfold in Gulmarg, with an additional 361 athletes competing. Khelo India Winter Games employs a team championship model, where medals garnered by individuals or teams contribute to their respective state, Union Territory (UT), or institution’s overall tally. Ultimately, the team amassing the highest count of gold medals at the event’s close emerges victorious.
At KIWG 2024, the Indian Army clinched victory in the men’s Ice Hockey tournament, triumphing 2-0 in the final penalty shootout against ITBP. In the women’s Ice Hockey event, ITBP secured the gold medal by defeating UT Ladakh in the final. ITBP holds the seventh position in the medal tally, having secured just two medals. In contrast, the Indian Army occupies the 7th spot, having clinched only one gold medal thus far.
