The Khelo India University Games will take held from May 25 to June 3, 2023. The majority of the events will take place in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Varanasi, and Greater Noida. Only shooting-related events are scheduled in New Delhi.

Athletes from different institutions around the country compete for medals in a variety of sports at the inter-university Khelo India University Games (KIUG).
Around 4,000 athletes, all under the age of 27, representing 205 elite colleges from around the nation will compete for 913 medals (276 gold, 276 silver, and 361 bronze) across 21 different sports at KIUG 2023 with Rowig making its debuted this year.

KIUG, the inter-university event is in its third edition. Jain University is the current champion after winning the most recent contest, which was held in Bengaluru last year. In 2020, Panjab University won the inaugural KIUG championship.
The KIUG is one of the part of the Khelo India programme, which aims to encourage grassroots sports and identify young talent from all around India. The games can be viewed live on Prasar Bharti.
