Learn about the most updated , results, standings, and medal tally for the Khelo India University Game 2021-2022 along with the winner
On Saturday at the Jain Global Campus, the Khelo India University Games got underway.
The second edition of the Khelo India University Games, KIUG 2021, was postponed last year due to COVID-19. This year’s postponed event will take place at a number of sites in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

In all, 3,800 athletes from 189 colleges competed in 275 medal events across 20 sports and disciplines. Two indigenous sports, yogasana and mallakhamb, will also be on the menu for this season.
The other 18 sports are archery, badminton, basketball, boxing, fencing, football, hockey, judo, kabaddi, karate, shooting, table tennis, tennis, volleyball, weightlifting, and wrestling.
The Khelo India University Games, which ended on Tuesday, saw Jain University emerge as the overall champion.
The host took first place with 20 gold, seven silver, and five bronze medals. Lovely Professional University (17 gold, 15 silver, 19 bronze) placed second and third, respectively, behind reigning champion Panjab University (15 gold, 9 silver, 24 bronze).
Siva Sridhar of Jain University was the most successful athlete at the event, winning seven gold and two silver medals.
The men’s and women’s kabaddi finals were conducted on Tuesday, with the men’s and women’s crowns going to the University of Kota and Kurukshetra University, respectively.
The final results are as follows:

Kurukshetra University defeated Maharshi Dayanand University 46-19 in a women’s match.
Men’s football: MG University defeated the University Of Kerala 2-0 in the final.
97 records equaled or broken:
During the competition, 97 KIUG records were broken or tied. A mind-boggling 42 people competed in weightlifting, 28 in swimming, and 23 in athletics.
In the competition, two national records were broken: Siva Sridhar established a new mark in the men’s 200m individual medley and M. T. Ann Mariya broke the women’s weightlifting +87kg clean and jerk record.
Sridhar was the Games’ most successful athlete, capturing seven golds and two silvers. With each gold medal he earned in the water, the swimmer also set a new KIUG record.
Shrungi Bandekar, a swimmer, was the most successful female athlete in the Games, winning four gold and one silver. Mohan’s double of 200 meters and 400 meters cemented her position as the most dominant performer on the track.
