What Exactly Happened?

The track included pointed lyrics that suggested Drake’s involvement in inappropriate behavior, including accusations of pedophilia.

In one line, Kendrick cleverly compared himself to John Stockton, the NBA legend who played alongside Malone for 18 seasons with the Utah Jazz.

This comparison subtly referenced the scandal surrounding Malone, who fathered a child with a 13-year-old girl while he was a young adult.

Kendrick rapped, “How many opps you really got? I mean, it’s too many options. I’m finna pass on this body, I’m John Stockton.”

The Implication here was that Kendrick would pass on engaging with Drake, likening him to Malone.

NBA fans were startled by Kendrick’s boldness in addressing such a controversial topic, especially since this was his fourth track release in a matter of days.

What Did Lamar Say in His Diss Track?

The diss continued with aggressive lines that targeted Drake’s image, including, “Certified Lover Boy? Certified pedophiles.” In another line, Lamar can be heard saying, “Why you trollin’ like a b*tch? Ain’t you tired? Tryna strikes a chord and it’s probably A-Minor.”

The reference to Karl Malone stirred up additional controversy when a 2017 photo resurfaced showing Drake posing with the former NBA star at a Toronto Raptors game.

In the caption of the original Instagram post, Drake referred to Malone as his “neighbor.” Although Drake has since deleted the post, fans managed to preserve copies of the image.

Karl Malone Controversy Explained

Karl Malone, also known as “The Mailman,” is remembered as one of the greatest power forwards in NBA history, with a career spanning 19 years that included two MVP awards, 14 All-Star selections, and a ranking as the NBA’s third all-time leading scorer.

However, Malone’s career has been overshadowed by his involvement in a paternity suit from 1998, where it was alleged that he fathered a child with a 13-year-old girl when he was 20 years old. This incident significantly tainted his legacy.

Malone and Stockton were instrumental in leading the Utah Jazz to two consecutive NBA Finals in 1997 and 1998, but they fell short both times against Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls.

Despite his achievements on the court, Malone’s reputation remains marred by the scandal.
