Amid the ongoing drama between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, fans are analyzing the lyrics of the “6 God” for possible references to Kendrick’s personal life.
Some fans think Drake might have alluded to rumors of Kendrick’s fiancée, Whitney Alford, being unfaithful in the song “POPSTAR” back in 2020, suggesting that she had a relationship with his bodyguard.

In “POPSTAR,” a DJ Khaled track featuring Drake, he raps, “Bodyguards don’t look like Kevin Costner, you tweaking / Just pulled up to Whitney Houston, Texas for the evening.”
This line plays on words with references to the late singer Whitney Houston and the movie “The Bodyguard” while hinting at an alleged affair.
Drake revisits the topic in his track “Push Ups,” with the lyrics: “I be with bodyguards like Whitney.”
This can be interpreted as another nod to the rumored infidelity, possibly suggesting that bodyguards play a significant role in Whitney Alford’s life.
Additionally, it’s a double entendre, referring to the film “The Bodyguard,” where Kevin Costner’s character is romantically linked to Whitney Houston’s character. Drake went onto further allege that one of Kendrick and Whitney’s children was infact Dave Free’s who is Kendrick’s manager, alluding to an affair between Dave and Whitney. All these allegations are yet to be officially confirmed though.

Kendrick Lamar, however, has a history of addressing personal issues in his music. He admits to infidelity on the track “Mother I Sober” from his album “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.”
In his lyrics, he confesses to being unfaithful to Alford and the emotional impact it had on her.
“Intoxicated, there’s a lustful nature that I failed to mention / Insecurities that I project, sleepin’ with other women / Whitney’s hurt, the pure soul I know, I found her in the kitchen / Askin’ God, ‘Where did I lose myself? And can it be forgiven?’”
Kendrick also reflects on his actions and their consequences in “Worldwide Steppers.” Here, he raps, “Next time I f*ck a white bitch was out in Copenhagen / good kid, m.A.A.d city tour, I flourished on them stages / Whitney asked did I have a problem, I said, ‘I might be racist’ / Ancestors watchin’ me f*ck was like retaliation.”
