Shark Tank India has managed to create a lot of buzzes all around with the creative idea of supporting the new homegrown start-ups, know about the deal Kabaddi Adda got on it

This show has been everywhere, from memes to any social media platforms; this show has become a household name.

The show has already aired 30 episodes and, the sharks from the Shark Tank have closed hundreds of deals with multiple entrepreneurs already.

What Is Kabaddi Adda?

Kabaddi Adda is India’s only platform dedicated to Kabaddi. This home-grown brand was co-founded by four entrepreneurs in 2019. It is an online platform based out of Bangalore in order to increase the awareness and popularity of India’s oldest sport with it providing player interviews, match coverage with the owners talking about their aspirations to provide telecast of a women’s kabaddi league along with opening a fantasy kabaddi game.

Kabaddi Adda became the first sports-based start-up who became successful in raising funds from the Shark Tank, and not only this, they also brought on board two sharks from the show as well.

The Deal Of Kabaddi Adda In Shark Tank India, Owner Name Episode

In the show, Kabaddi Adda was represented by two of its co-founders – Suhail Chandok, who is one of the foremost Kabaddi commentators in the country, and Arvind Sivdas, who is an IIT Madras graduate. Kabaddi Adda managed to impress the sharks of the Shark Tank and raised INR. 80 lakh for 6% equity which has a valuation of INR.13.33 crore.

The owners had initially asked for Rs.80 lakh for 1% citing a previous investment round in the company ensuing which they were battered by Anupam Mittal who accused them of being on the show only for publicity. The company came on the show in episode number 30 of season 1.

Though, since the inception of the Pro Kabaddi League in 2014, the sport has witnessed an increase in its popularity and went from being virtually non-existent in the mainstream to the second-most-watched sport in India.

Perception Of Co-Founders Of Kabaddi Adda

Chandok, one of the co-founders of Kabaddi Adda, in an interview said, “Shark Tank India promotes Indian entrepreneurship and Naya Bharat. If you think about it Kabaddi is a true Indian sport – it really translates into the ethos of what India stands for. The power and impact through sport are incredible and Shark Tank as a platform is about impact generation.”
