Chinese Taipei began the day’s play against Uganda, defeating the latter with an impressive score of 42–40. Kenya, who finished as tournament runners-up last year, lost their opening game to Iraq, who defeated them 56-39 in Pool B. Bangladesh got off to a fast start by defeating Thailand 69–43. Meanwhile, the defending champions Iran defeated Chinese Taipei by a score of 62-25 to get their season started. With a 61-41 advantage over Nepal, the Pakistani squad won their opening clash.
In the last clash of Tuesday, Iraq continued their momentum with a one-sided 69-16 win against Palestine that allowed them to qualify for the quarter-final comfortably. On Wednesday, India will play both of their group-stage matches including one against Bangladesh and the other against Thailand. It is known that India has to defeat Thailand to keep their title quest alive.
