JJK 271 recontexualizes the entire Shinjuku Showdown. For months, people used “nah I’d win” as a joke about being over confident, but Gojo’s chat w/ Yuji makes it clear that this confidence in winning was about his students succeeding—the strong & intelligent allies he dreamed of pic.twitter.com/e8FLRmQ7qZ

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 271 Ending Explain
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 271 began with Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara continuing with their mission as they were tracking down an awakened curse user from the culling game.
The trio made a plan to lure the curse user by using a couple under its influence as a bait. While Yuji and Nobara stayed close to the influenced couple in order to protect them, Megumi positioned himself on a nearby roof deck, looking out for any possible sign of danger.
Their bizarre plan worked as Megumi successfully spotted the curse user, whose twisted goal was to make her partner unworthy of her affections, as he was obsessed with her.
The focus then switched to a flashback of Satoru Gojo and Yuji having a heartfelt conversation before Gojo’s intense battle against Sukuna in the Showdown arc.
During the conversation, Gojo can be seen revealing his doubts to Yuji expressing hope that his students especially Yuji would surpass him one day.
The focus then shifts to a conversation between Mahito and Sukuna, where Mahito can be seen speculating that Sukuna’s immense power was not rooted in true fulfillment, hinting that Sukuna’a action were driven by revenge.
To which Sukuna, reflected on his past choices and even admitted a desire for redemption, confessing that if he is given another chance he’d choose differently. As the manga reached its final moment, Megumi asked Yuji what he had done with Sukuna’s last cursed finger.
Listening Megumi’s question, Yuji casually revealed that he had simplu discarded it. The final panel then depicted the cursed finger lying in an eerie shed deep within a dark forest, creating a haunting sense of unfinished business.
This scene seems somewhat paralleled with the series’ opening, when Yuji discovered the cursed finger and the entire Sukuna saga began.
Though witnessing the unfinished business, many fans are wondering whether Jujutsu Kaisen will return with another season, however, as of now, there isn’t any information about the series return.
