John Cena Confirms WWE Return On The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon

Sixteen-time WWE Champion John Cena finally confirms his WWE return this Wednesday during his appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon

With WWE taking the action back to live events next month in July, rumors about a lot of superstars had been surfacing ever since. And it was certain that recently turned Mr. Hollywood John Cena would be one of them. John had been rumored to return, but nothing was confirmed until this Wednesday on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.

John Cena Will Return To WWE As Confirmed On The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon

When Jimmy Fallon asked him this Wednesday on The Tonight Show when he would return, John Cena answered in the affirmative. Cena addressed the rumors of his in-ring comeback and said, “Those rumors are true. I will definitely be back to the WWE, I just don’t know when.” He continued that he hasn’t yet had his last match and he can’t wait to have his next match.

Jimmy Fallon then went on to address Cena’s Instagram post from last month. The Champ had posted a picture of the WWE logo on his bizarre Instagram account on 8th May. In response to this, John explained that he was just feeling very nostalgic. Some people had perceived the post as a hint that he was returning immediately, but Cena explained how clearly that wasn’t the case.

The Champ had even missed out on this year’s Wrestlemania 37, which was very unlikely for him. The reason for this was his tight schedule surrounding the many Hollywood projects he is currently a part of. With so many movies in his pipelines, he reasoned that it is very difficult to simultaneously perform for WWE. The insurance necessary for such projects prevents him from doing so.

The rumors surrounding Cena’s return surfaced when it was confirmed that his last project The Peacemaker was cleared off his schedule in July. He had been filming the same in Canada during Wrestlemania 37. He is reportedly expected to return in time for a match with the current WWE Universal Roman Reigns at Summerslam 2021. The rumored date is the July 16th episode of Smackdown.
