Struggling to keep up its ratings, especially for non-PPV events, WWE is full on discussing about returning high-profile superstars back in the game in 2021.
In addition to a return to live-action, WWE could really use the boost these returns would provide to level back up as the greatest sports entertainment platform. With The Rock and John Cena getting closer to stepping out of the ring forever with every movie they shoot, and the Universe feeling the absence of Lesnar, WWE is in works to bring the stars back.
WWE Superstars Returning 2021: When Will Brock Lesnar, The Rock, Becky Lynch And John Cena Return?
Mat Men’s Andrew Zarian had mentioned before that the company was booking Brock Lesnar for a potential match at Summerslam 2021. With Bobby Lashley retaining the WWE title last night at Hell in a Cell, The Beast Incarnate has the perfect spot to return. To fuel this up, Drew McIntyre and Kofi Kingston even name-dropped Lesnar on the May 31st episode of Raw. On the other hand, Lashley questioned the hype for someone who doesn’t even work for the company.
John Cena is also expected to return at Summerslam, now that his Peacemaker project is almost cleared off his schedule. The Champ spoke with Chris Van Vilet ahead of the launch of Fast and Furious 9. “I very much look forward to wearing Jorts again. It’s been too long,” he told Van Vliet. When asked asked if it was a matter of when, not if, Cena will be back, he replied, “You’re absolutely correct.”

Now for the biggest rumored return currently making the rounds , we may even see The Rock and Roman Reigns soon. Rumor has it that The Brahma Bull could return at Survivor Series this year, to build up the heat for a match with his fellow Samoan Roman Reigns. “Obviously The Rock & Roman Reigns is something that they’re building towards,” said analyst Dave Meltzer.
Becky Lynch Updates
Along with these legendary men, ‘The Man’ Becky Lynch may also come back stronger. She was out of action, giving birth to a beautiful daughter Roux with her co-star Seth Rollins. She was cited in the backstage arena at Hell in a Cell. According to PWInsider and Fightful Select she also appeared at the Performance Center this week and participated in live matches.

There is no concrete date yet as to when The Man will return. But WWE said that she looked ‘jacked’ and ‘like she never felt’. Beside, Stephanie McMahon has claimed that Summerslam will have some great surprises. This suffices to say that we may see at least one of these four superstars return at the PPV. It will take place on 21st August at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
