Jalen Hill has died, his family and the university say, know about the UCLA basketball player, his stats and news
He played basketball at UCLA for three years before leaving for personal reasons last year. He was 22. Hill went missing in Costa Rica, and on Tuesday, his family wrote on Instagram that he had died. No other information was given.

“We know Jalen has played a part in the lives of so many people,” Hill’s family wrote in the post. “We also acknowledge the role that so many of you have played in his. As we try to navigate this devastating time in our lives, we ask that you please give us time to grieve. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers.”
Wednesday, UCLA and coach Mick Cronin acknowledged Hill’s death with posts on social media.
“Our program is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former student-athlete Jalen Hill. We offer our sincere condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time,” the school said.

Cronin called Hill’s death “heartbreaking.”
“Jalen was a warm-hearted young man with a great smile who has left us far too soon,” the coach tweeted.

Jalen Hill, the forward from Corona, California, started 40 of the 77 games he played in for the Bruins over three seasons. He averaged 6.5 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.
In February 2021, Hill left the programme. In April 2021, he posted a video to Instagram in which he talked about why. He said he was going to stop playing basketball because he was anxious and sad.
“I left for no reason related to the team, Cronin, or the coaches, or anything like that. So that everyone knows that it was me, “In the video, he said.
As freshmen, Hill, LiAngelo Ball, and Cody Riley were all caught shoplifting in China in November 2017 while the team was there to play a Pac-12 game. UCLA put all three players on suspension for the whole 2017-18 season.
