Sebastien Romain Teddy Haller who is a Christian by religion is a professional footballer who was born on June 22, 1994, in Ris Orangis, Paris, France. He was born to parents Simone Kuyo and Mr. Haller and has two siblings, a sister named Armella and a brother named Sery Tessia. Sebastian currently plays as a striker for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga. Despite being born in France, he is an Ivorian national and represents the Côte d’Ivoire national team.

Career and achievements

Sebastien Haller initially started his professional football career at Auxerre before moving out on loan to Utrecht in 2015. He eventually secured a permanent move there and then moved to Eintracht Frankfurt two years later. During his time there, he helped the team win the DFB Pokal in 2018. Later in 2019, Haller made a big move to English Premier League side West Ham United for a club-record transfer fee of €49.8 million (£45 million).

After two seasons there, he returned to the Netherlands to join Ajax for a record-breaking €22.5 million (£18.8 million). At Ajax, he helped win the Eredivisie and the KNVB Cup. Sebastien Haller had a standout time at Ajax, where he scored seven goals in ten matches during the 2021–22 UEFA Champions League.

Following his success at Ajax, he moved to Borussia Dortmund for a transfer fee of €31 million. Aside from his club career, Haller has also had a very successful international career. Haller initially started out playing for France at the youth level, where he made 51 international appearances and scored 27 goals. He had a very promising start to his career, showing his talents at the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Mexico, where he scored during the 3-0 win over Argentina.

He also scored a hat-trick during a friendly against Estonia in 2015 while making his Under-21 debut in 2013. Ironically, he scored a hat-trick during a friendly against Ivory Coast in 2016 before choosing to play for Ivory Coast four years later, in 2020. Sebastien Haller made his debut for Ivory Coast against Madagascar, where he scored a goal.

He also played for the team in the 2021 and 2023 African Cups of Nations. Haller played a key role in helping Ivory Coast secure a spot in the African Cup of Nations finals. He scored the only goal during their 1–0 win over the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the semi-finals and then went on to score the winning goal against Nigeria in the finals.
