Live streaming will be available in India for every final of the Rio shooting World Cup, which ends on September 19. The 2023 ISSF World Cup for rifle and pistol will conclude in Rio before the championships in Doha, Qatar, which are planned to take place from November 18 to 27.

Saurabh Chaudhary, a gold medalist at the Youth Olympics, will compete in the 10m air pistol event in Rio as a member of the Indian team. The 2023 ISSF World Cup will be the first opportunity for the Asian Games champion from Jakarta to compete.

Having earned a gold medal at the ISSF Junior World Cup, Chaudhary last participated in the senior World Cup in Cairo in 2022, when he also took home a gold. Since then, the Indian shooter has had trouble maintaining consistency. The Uttar Pradesh prodigy won the air pistol competition at the national shooting trials in New Delhi in June, earning him a return to India.

Rahi Sarnobat, who won the gold medal in the Asian Games in 2018, is also competing in Rio. In her most recent competition, the 32-year-old earned the gold medal in the women’s 25m pistol team event at the Cairo ISSF World Cup in 2022.

The women’s individual 10m air rifle competition will feature Olympian Elavenil Valarivan in competition. The Indian shooters who were chosen to compete at the Asian Games 2023, which get underway in Hangzhou, People’s Republic of China, on September 23, have decided to skip the Rio World Cup.

India finished with four medals, including one gold, two silvers, and one bronze, at the ISSF World Cup for rifle and pistol shooters held in Baku, Azerbaijan, in May. Indian shooters have taken home a total of 23 medals from ISSF World Cups so far in 2023, including seven gold, four silver, and 12 bronze. India is now ranked fourth in the medal count.
