“The Greatest of All Time” (GOAT) poster and plot
The recently unveiled poster provides a visual feast, showcasing Thalapathy Vijay in a dual role, a younger version engaged in a fist bump with the elder character. Both are donned in uniforms, against the backdrop of a fighter plane, with a parachute resting in the background. The tagline, “Light has the power to engulf darkness, but darkness cannot overpower the light,” adds an intriguing layer to the film’s theme.
The parallels between the poster and Cooper’s hijacking are evident. The setting of a fighter plane, the presence of a parachute, and the thematic emphasis on light and darkness all hint at a narrative inspired by the enigmatic D.B. Cooper.
A recent discovery suggests that the concept of #GOAT could draw inspiration from the actual events involving D.B. Cooper. D.B. GOAT might be based on the D.B. Cooper case

The D.B. Cooper disappearance mid-air is one of the legendary aviation stories across the world and GOAT will reportedly be an adaptation of the story of DB Cooper who hijacked a flight to Seattle in 1971 for ransom money. Once he received the ransom money, he jumped out of the aircraft mid-air into the night sky and was never found and went traceless and its been 50 + years and remains one of the biggest unresolved cases of FBI and stuff of legends.
On that fateful day in 1971, Cooper handed a note to a flight attendant, claiming he had a bomb and hijacking the plane. Demanding $200,000 in cash, four parachutes, and a fuel truck standing by in Seattle for a getaway, Cooper orchestrated a daring heist in the sky. After receiving the ransom and parachutes, he released the passengers in Seattle and instructed the remaining crew to fly to Mexico City at a low altitude.
The climax of Cooper’s audacious act occurred over the rugged, wooded terrain of southwestern Washington state. Opening a rear stairway door, he parachuted out of the plane, disappearing into thin air. Despite extensive investigations by the FBI and numerous theories over the years, D.B. Cooper’s true identity and whereabouts remain shrouded in mystery.
Now, the question arises: Is “GOAT” truly based on D.B. Cooper’s real story, or does it merely draw inspiration from the infamous hijacking? The answer, it seems, lies in the upcoming trailer release. The film industry often takes creative liberties with real events, blending fact and fiction to craft compelling narratives.
As fans eagerly await the unveiling of the trailer, speculations abound. Will “GOAT” delve into the complexities of Cooper’s life, exploring the man behind the legend? Or will it use the essence of the hijacking as a backdrop for an original storyline?
